Canola Council invites letters of intent for next Canola AgriScience Cluster

November 2, 2026 – The Canola Council of Canada (CCC) is inviting letters of intent (LOIs) for research projects that may be considered for funding under the next Canola AgriScience Cluster.

The CCC, Alberta Canola, SaskOilseeds, Manitoba Canola Growers, Results Driven Agriculture Research, Ontario Canola Growers Association and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) are working together to develop the fifth Canola AgriScience Cluster.  The next program will build on previous Cluster investments and align with priorities set out in the Next Policy Framework (NPF).

LOIs are due February 2, 2027, and must be submitted by email to Chris Manchur, CCC manager, research, innovation & resilience, at manchurc@canolacouncil.org. Successful applicants will be notified by email in late March and invited to submit a full proposal.

The Canola Council is also hosting a webinar on November 20 to provide an overview of previous Cluster programs, review the LOI submission template and give potential applicants an opportunity to ask questions and engage with funders. Registration is required to attend.

Canada’s canola industry and AAFC have jointly funded canola research through the last four AgriScience Cluster programs. This investment in research and innovation has helped address industry-wide priorities and supported the canola industry’s contribution of more than $43 billion in direct, indirect and induced benefits annually to the Canadian economy.

Building on this foundation, the next Canola AgriScience Cluster will look to continue to focus research efforts on priorities that strengthen the long-term competitiveness and success of Canadian canola.

The Canola Council of Canada is a full value chain organization representing canola growers, processors, life science companies and exporters. The CCC’s mission is to facilitate market access and strategic development and enable industry innovation to grow the value and profitability of Canadian canola.
